Our Instructors

Joe Cellucci, Owner, Paramedic, NR-P, CCP, FP-C, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, TECC, AMLS, PHTLS

  • Instructor: BLS, Stop the Bleed, AMLS (Advanced Medical Life Support), PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support), TECC (Tactical Emergence Casualty Care), GEMS (Geriatric Emergency Care EMS Safety) 
  • Joe has been a paramedic for over 25 years. With over 20+ years of emergency training, Joe has a vast resume of first responder experience. Joe has worked as a police officer, department of correction CERT team member, firefighter/ arson investigator, and 911 paramedic. Joe has also worked as a NASCAR fire safety instructor and Jump Medic. Currently, Joe works as a Certified Critical Care Paramedic CCEMT-P and Certified Flight Paramedic FP-C.
  • In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, kayaking, photography, and spending time in the gym. 

Elizabeth Hufham, RN, CCRN-CMC, CHFN, BLS, ACLS, TNCC

  • Instructor: Basic Life Support; Stop the Bleed
  • Elizabeth is a registered nurse with over 10 years of nursing experience. She is board certified as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and board certified in Cardiac Medicine (CMC). She is passionate about nursing education and disaster response preparedness. In her free time, she volunteers for the State Medical Assistance Team and is a Volunteer Ambassador for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
  • Outside of nursing, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband and little girl. Elizabeth currently works as an intensive care nurse specializing in cardiac critical care. 

Joy Zalaiskalns, MSN, RN, CCRN, BLS, ACLS

  • Instructor: Basic Life Support; Stop the Bleed
  • Joy is a registered nurse with over 11 years of ICU nursing experience. She graduated from Wright State University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and graduated from Charleston Southern University with her Master’s in Nursing Education (MSN). Joy is a member of the American Association of Critical- Care Nurses and holds board certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN). She is passionate about nursing education and has worked as a skills lab instructor for the school of nursing at University North Carolina at Wilmington.
  • In her free time, she enjoys running Spartan races with her family and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Jeanmarie Pate, BSN, RN, CCRN, BLS, ACLS

  • Instructor: Basic Life Support; Stop the Bleed
  • Jeanmarie is a registered nurse with over 5 years of cardiovascular nursing experience. Jeanmarie has worked in many fields on nursing including the cardiac cath lab and cardiac intensive care. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Jeanmarie is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and is board certified as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN).
  • In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful baby girl and her husband. She is also passionate about volunteering with the special needs population and educating patients and the general public about early intervention and emergency response.  

Sheila Girardot, RN, CCRN, BLS, ACLS

  • Instructor: Basic Life Support; Stop the Bleed
  • Sheila is a Registered Nurse with over 20+ years in the healthcare industry. During her 20+ years in the healthcare industry, Sheila has worked in many varieties in the healthcare field- including paramedic, trainer and lieutenant for paramedics in EMS, paramedic and flight nurse in various areas of the state, volunteer for the state medical assistance team, and registered nurse in critical care, and nurse mentor and preceptor. 
  • In her free time, she enjoys time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is passionate about educating the public for CPR and first responder training- as her personal training has saved her own family’s lives- personally performing CPR on her own daughter and granddaughter. Sheila currently works as an intensive care nurse specializing in Cardiac Critical Care.
